Block Types

Again, you will want to make this post private.

Hero Block – Top of Template

The hero block is the section just below the menu. It can be a static image or a video. You can add buttons with links or leave them out. You can see a static image here block on the ceramic template page and a video hero block on the detailing page

We have also added a full-height block, which you can see on our alternate home page.

Services Blocks

We have 3 service blocks. Services, Services List, and Services List Extended. Each has a very specific purpose, but with all the flexibility you can adjust them in such a way that they look very similar– at least the last two.

Services block

The services block is currently seen just under the ‘Hero Image’ on the home page. The services block is designed to quickly get a consumer from the page they are on to the page they want to be on without reading a bunch of text.

While we use it on the home page, it can easily be added to other pages. For example, on your detailing page, you could have a section called ‘Other Services’ that utilizes the service block.

Services List

The Services List block is designed to go vertically down the page. This block is used on the home page to describe generic services. This block is used on informational pages. The customer lands on the home page; they can read about the services you offer and click through to that page. A great example is detailing. We don’t have the interior, exterior, and engine bay all listed. Just detailing. Now if we did not do coatings, ppf, and tint, we might change our logic some and have each detailing service.

Services List Extended

While the services list is designed to be generic, the services list extended is designed to describe each service offered. It adds pricing functionality and also a place to have a paragraph of marketing text before the services are listed.

We find this breakdown to be great for most services offered, especially things like detailing.

Pricing Block

Some items like window tint, are hard to show with pictures, and a pricing block works better.

Blog Type Block

This is a very versatile block that we use both on our work and about us pages, but it could be used almost anywhere. Below is the same block type. In one example, we only add an image, header, and one line of text. In another, we added details and a button you could use to book now or go to that service page.

Where to Add Blocks

If you install this theme with the suggested plugins, there are a couple of different ways to get the page you want. You can duplicate one of our existing pages and edit it or create a new page. In either case you will use blocks to add or remove content such that it is preformatted.

Moving Blocks

Let’s say you like the content but want to move it around on a page. Really easy. Just minimize all blocks and drag and drop to where you want them. In the video you can see where we expand and where we minimize.
